Two payment options I keep seeing pushed on UKGC sites now: pay and cashout via Open Banking, or the old debit card route. Wanted to compare them properly because the marketing on both is a bit much.
My own tests this month, same operator, similar amounts:
Debit card cashout of £150, processed by the site in a couple of hours but then sat 1 to 2 working days before it showed in my account. Standard card lag really.
Open Banking cashout of £180, once it cleared their internal review it hit the bank in under an hour. Genuinely quick.
The catch: Open Banking depends on the site supporting it for withdrawals not just deposits, and a couple I use only do deposits that way. Card works everywhere.
So which are you using day to day, and has Open Banking ever been slower for you than the card? Want real numbers not the blurb.
Open Banking vs debit card for withdrawals, which is actually faster

Open Banking every time now if the site offers it for cashouts. Weekend withdrawal landed Sunday morning which never used to happen with a card, that always dragged to the Monday or Tuesday.
Only downside I've hit, one site made me reverify the bank link after a few months, took ten minutes. Card never asks that. Small price for getting paid same day though.

mah, i'm still on debit card mostly, just habit. it's never let me down even if it's a day or two slower.
that said your Open Banking numbers are tempting. the one time i tried it the cashout was fast but the setup felt fiddly on my phone, kept bouncing between apps. maybe i just got a clunky one. might give it another go on a site that does it properly

Quick question, does the Open Banking review you mention happen every withdrawal or just the first? That's the bit that'd decide it for me.
I've only used card so far. Slowest was a bank holiday weekend, sat three days, which was misery when you can see the money's left their end. If Open Banking dodges that I'm sold.

To answer Lou, in my experience the heavy review is mostly the first cashout or after a big jump in amount, after that Open Banking ones fly through. Card has the same KYC the first time, the difference is purely the bank settlement lag at the end.
Net of it, Open Banking wins on speed where it's supported, card wins on it being everywhere. I keep both linked and just use whichever the site does best.
